Discover privacy policy

Discover (“the app”) is published by Rodolphe Cambier. It follows your position while you drive and talks about the places you pass. It has no account, no server of its own, no analytics and no advertising. Nothing you do in the app is sent to us.
What leaves your phone, and where it goes

OpenAI processes this data under its own privacy policy and API data usage policies. Wikimedia’s policy is here. Apple’s map and geocoding services are covered by Apple’s privacy policy.
What stays on your phone
- Your OpenAI key, in the iPhone Keychain. The app shows only its last four characters after you save it.
- Your settings: special interests, narrator, language, pace, chattiness, voice model.
- An estimate of what each day of driving cost, computed from the token counts OpenAI reports. Kept for 31 days.
Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Location in the background
Discover keeps following your position with the screen locked, so it can keep narrating. Location is used only while a trip is running. The app does not build a history of where you have been.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
Changes to this policy are published on this page with a new date.
