Daybound

Know where you stood, every night, in your own Google Sheet

Daybound is an iPhone app for people who live under day limits: UK settlement (ILR) and citizenship absence rules, Schengen 90/180, tax residence tests, US Substantial Presence. It records the country you sleep in each night, automatically, and keeps everything in a Google Sheet that belongs to you.

What it does

  • Tracks by itself. With “Always” location access, iOS wakes the app when you move; the app keeps the country, time and a coarse position of each fix on the phone.
  • Writes one row per night to your own Google Sheet: date, country, evidence. Nothing is sent anywhere else.
  • Counts days the way each law does. Whole days only for UK continuous residence, any part of a day for Schengen and the US test, where you are at midnight for tax residence.
  • Projects your settlement date: the earliest day you can apply for ILR given the 180-day rule, including a restart after a breach.
  • Keeps a full location log in a second sheet you own, and imports your Google Maps Timeline export so the past is yours too.
  • Corrections are auditable. The only manual action is “Correct this day”, which needs a reason and writes it to the sheet’s evidence column.
